Terri Johns, MCIP, RPP

Terri is a professional urban planner with more than 35 years’ experience in the private sector. She spent most of her early career with consulting company May, Pirie, Dakin & Associates in Burlington, Ontario, and then went on to run the Planning and Development division for the Starward Homes group of companies.

Terri founded T. Johns Consulting Group in 2014 and as Founder and President, guides the company’s direction.

Terri has built a team of professionals who are not only talented, but very approachable and easy to work with. Her team dynamic is ideal for the work-intensive needs of planning and development projects.

Along with her strong urban planning skills, Terri is an experienced project manager. She is known for her diligence and smart problem-solving. Under her guidance, land development and building projects move smoothly and successfully from start to finish – navigating any complex issues that may arise – and delivering strong results for multiple stakeholders.

Terri has been responsible for numerous large-scale planning projects, including land disposition strategies for Redeemer College in Ancaster, Ontario, Chedoke Campus of Bay Area Health Trust, and Ridley College in St. Catharines. She has also obtained development approvals for residential subdivisions and condominiums.

In her personal time, Terri is steadfast in her passion of giving back to the community. In 2024, she received the Order of Hamilton to recognize her countless volunteer contributions to the YWCA Hamilton and West End Home Builder’s Association. As Board President of the YWCA, and Past President of the WE HBA, Terri continuously broadens the voice of women at the table and contributes towards positive community building.
